Even if you think "SYG" did not play a part in the Zimmerman and Dunn cases in FL, you are wrong. Facts are that the "SYG" rules were and are introduced into the jury instructions BY LAW and in a part of the trial that is not open to cross examination. In both cases, while the defense did not specifically cite the "SYG" rules, BOTH defense teams addressed the concept of self defense in detail (and erroniously) - opening the door to this being a discussion point. It absolutely contributed to the incidents, the poor decision making of the shooters and the progress of both cases.
Being afraid is not a legal defense. Many people are afraid of paper cuts. That is not justification to burn down an Office Supply.
